The female louse lays about 6 eggs daily. In her lifetime she can lay 150 eggs. The lice eggs or nits are glued onto the hair shaft. It takes 10 days for the eggs to hatch and the louse to be born as a young nymph. These nymphs become adult lice that mate and reproduce.
